Hello! You're probably here as a US customer whose Faire order got edited due to Chinese-origin goods. Here's a quick rundown on why that happened:
-We're located in Canada and bring our eligible American orders across the border several times a week to ship from upstate NY using a trade provision called "de minimis" entry which has historically been afforded to any order valued under $800 USD. We do this to avoid customs delays and provide the most affordable possible shipping to our US customers.
-Since May 1st, 2025, any items of Chinese origin (meaning they were made in China - even if they were finished / printed elsewhere) are no longer eligible for Section 321, de minimis entry into the U.S. This means that we cannot bring any order containing Chinese-made goods over the border. For us, this typically concerns patches, enamel pins, silicone pouches, keychains, linen notebooks and tote bag blanks (this is now changing). Hats, apparel and all stationery items except the linen notebooks are unaffected. Â
-We have done our best to denote these items on Faire: on all Chinese items the following badge appears on their main photo:
As well as each item description containing a blurb about it, and the country of origin indicated correctly in the item details. If you find this confusing, please consider shopping on our own wholesale website, where the items are simply blocked from the US market so no confusion occurs (application at the bottom of this page - all applications from current retailers are automatically accepted) <3
-We are still able to split out Chinese-made goods to ship directly to US customers from here in Canada. If you'd like to do this, please reach out! Of course, these items will be subject to any applicable tariffs (currently 30%) and import / brokerage fees when they cross US customs.
-We are working hard to shift our manufacturing chain and have successfully moved tote bag blanks out of Chinese manufacturing going forward, as well as applying our beloved patches to hats which are not manufactured in China (once the patch becomes part of the hat, the full product takes on the country of origin of the part that provides the "purpose" of the item - in this case, the hat!)
Thanks for your understanding!
